Indeed, 'twas me. Shellshokt is also going for the same loadout.
There is a fair bit of variation, since little details changed as the war progressed. You have an early war impression there - the cuffband is green, with the Sutterlin script. The later version I have is black with the Latin script.

aye you're quite right it is an early repro title I ummed and ahed for ages about which one to get, but the picture I was using had the early font, so I went for that.
Early cuff title, but very late war tunic, it's an M44 isnt it? late war breast eagle on the big triangle backing. Quite possible an old hand saved his early cuff title but it's not an early war impression. It dates you to, at the earliest, late sept '44.
Chooseing GD should also limit you to eastern front. there seems to have been a small unit in france until July '44, other than that it's the Russian front for the GD.
This doesn't affect it's suitability for airsofting, I just mention it cos I'm a WW2 nut with a love of accurate impressions. There are other points of view just as valid.

Its why i'm doing Brandenburger, you can justify that for nearly every theatre and campaign....

Whatever.....
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
No, i only mention it as i was all set for GD myself but i readup on it a bit and thought i'd got for something i could use in nealry every late war theatre and still be about right, that and given the nature of airsoft scenarios even WWII ones Brandenburgers fit in nicely.
I might do a second tunic up as GD combat engineers in the future but one thing at a time!
nichts fur ungot.

Actually limits to 1943, the GD were the first infantry to trial the M44 before it went out to the masses (tho no idea of how many actually wore it when it was). edited to add I believe they trialed them in June/July 43 well thats what it says in my book anyways
As for effect of wearing it anywhere other than airsofting I'm female
it would go down like a very large lead balloon
I am not brave enough for that, its just for fun
but being female I realised I would get picked up on things and intentionally picked a uniform that could be well researched plenty piccies out there of it if you look, even GD in the M44
and make sure I did its best portral as possible
not as daft as I may seem
well not all the time
and very paranoid being a gurlie going into what is stereotypically a male environment and realising there are plenty of people that know more than me, like yourself gadge
The collar titles, shoulder boards and eagle are as you state later issue (intentionally bought that way on my part) as they were on occasions prestitched onto the jackets before being sent out (though mine have frankenstich work ) the cuff title was something the troups were very proud of and were regulary (also goes for other insignia) removed from old uniforms and restitched onto the new ensemble.
As said I was duplicating the uniform from an image in a book and out of interest I picked the M44 jacket due to being female. Its a better fit than the M36 tunic ( like che has) which I think would have looked silly on me as it looked more overcoat on a smurf than me in a than jacket
So there you go in a nutshell I'm not even sure che can borrow it as its a small uniform
so it will almost exclusively be used by me for airsoft
Christ what a ramble will shut up now
blooming women talk hindlegs of a donkey an convince it to walk huh
Sorry Gadge, was not a personal attack - I am fully aware that GD were largely eastern front, and that doesn't bother me in the slightest. Pretty much any insignia or uniform one has will - by definition - only be "accurate" to a particular timescale or location. I was just concerned that a new member proudly showing their uniform could easily feel deflated at some of the comments that followed. This is (only) airsoft - we recently played "Arnhem" and there wasn't even a bridge!

Not sure if thats dedication or lunacy maybes both
Ah 50 20mm miniatures and support vehicles, not 50 divisons, that *would* be lunacy!

still think its lunacy had assumed it was minitures never got into that side of things, my brother was a games workshop addict. Far too fiddly for my not very delicate hands
Uh oh.... I've given in to temptation again! Seeing how hot it's been, and it was only April, I started browsing Spearhead and noticed the beautiful summer M36 tunics. Made of feldgrau canvas rather than the later reed green HBT, I couldn't see any matching trousers. So I emailed Barry and got an instant reply - they do the feldgrau canvas M37 trousers, although don't list them - and he'd do me the tunic and trouser set for $109! Snap!! (That's the sound of Barry's hand being bitten off )
I also ordered my insignia from Mr Morigi - but I've gone for a greatly reduced bling (to save money). Pictures will follow when the gear arrives.

I saw the summer tunnic on ebay too, was undecided about buying one until you mentioned the troos, I have emailed him as well about a set! When summer really sets in I think I am probably going to be too hot charging about in a wool set!
Here's my M36, badges on
